Rehearsal and Performance Rules 1. Younger students will rehearse in class, but will need to attend at least one dress rehearsal and a final walk through at the stage. Older students will rehearse in class when possible, but will need to attend any rehearsals scheduled outside class, as well as rehearsals at the stage. 2. Anyone who misses two or more rehearsals may be asked not to participate in the performance. If you know your child will miss rehearsal, please discuss it with Gigi beforehand. Missing rehearsals is very disruptive to the rehearsal process, the choreography and the other students. It is quite confusing to these young children when all the bodies are not there, and they constantly have to adjust to different people in different places. 3. Anyone who misses dress rehearsal and/or the run through the day of the performance cannot dance in the performance. In the past, students have shown up at the last minute without a walk through on a new stage, and thrown the whole dance into chaos. This is very unfair to those who are there on time, learning the staging and trying to do their best. We want the optimum performance experience for dancers and audience. This requires the courtesy to and consideration of the other dancers to show up on time, and to attend rehearsals. 4. All older dancers need to warm up fully by doing a complete barre before rehearsals and walk throughs. Older dancers should plan to be there 45 minutes to an hour ahead of time, so hair, make-up and warm ups are complete. Thank
you very much. |
