School
Rules
- Arrival
time - Please be on time. The whole of class, including warming up,
is important, and late arrival is disruptive for other students.
- Dress
code
- For girls in Ballet 1 and up: black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet
slippers with bows tucked in. Pre-ballet girls wear light pink leotards
and tights, and pink ballet slippers. All boys: white T-shirt, black
tights or shorts, black ballet slippers. Jazz students: comfortable,
loose clothing, jazz shoes. All students should enter and leave the
building in street clothes and shoes, not just in leotards, tights and
slippers.
- Hair -
Neat and off the face, with all hair neatly contained. Use hair spray
and bobby pins as necessary. Girls in ballet 1 and up should pull hair
back in a bun with hairnet and hairpins.
- No jewelry,
except for non-dangling earrings.
- In class
behavior - Please respect the teacher and one another. Dancing is fun
and active, but also requires attention and effort. Students stay in
the studio for the duration of the class. Please use the bathroom before
or after, not during, class.
- Ballet
Dictionary - All serious students should have a copy of Gail Grant's
Technical Manual and Dictionary of Classical Ballet. It is an industry
standard for ballet terminology and definitions.
- Parking
- Please park up on the driveway. We are not allowed street parking.
You may park behind the garage bays, as well as on the grass. Enter
the house through the first door on the back deck.
- Lost and
found - Located on top of the dryer in the laundry room. Please check
regularly for lost items.
- Observation
week - Second week of the month. Seating is limited, and all observers
must be able to sit still for the duration of class. If you or your
child needs to move around while watching, please wait until the music
stops to do so.
Thank
you.
